Historically, the Yellow Springs Community Foundation has supported a wide range of grant requests. In general terms, we consider programs and projects that benefit people in the Village of Yellow Springs or Miami Township in Greene County, Ohio. You may learn more about the types of grants we have supported by reviewing grant history. We are proud that this support sometimes includes projects that we identify as “off the wall.” However, please note that we do not grant funds that are used as part of the recurring operational expenses of the submitting organization.
Most of what we provide are general discretionary grants for programs, projects, and events to qualifying 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Grants are never made directly to individuals. See Overview of Grant Making Norms for Grants Review Committee that include changes due to the pandemic.
We also provide grants from the Yellow Springs Endowment for Education (YSEE) Field of Interest Fund for educational programs, extracurricular activities, and projects within the Yellow Springs Exempted Village Schools. Faculty, staff, and students of the Yellow Springs Exempted Village Schools are eligible to submit grant applications.
Our Foundation is a tax-exempt, public and charitable organization. We promote equal opportunity independent of race, color, creed, sex, sexual preference, or political persuasion.
