The Yellow Springs Community Foundation funds a variety of scholarships, awards and grants for programs and projects that enrich life in the Village of Yellow Springs and Miami Township in Greene County, Ohio. We look forward to assisting you in your funding applications.
Scholarships and Awards for YS School Students are generally applied for during March, reviewed in April and awarded in May, actual dates are coordinated with the YS High School Guidance Counselors. The applications are managed through the Scholarship portal; apply online.
Grants are welcome from 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations whose projects meet the goal of enriching lives in the Village of Yellow Springs and Miami Township in Greene County, Ohio. Please note that we do not grant funds for recurring operational expenses. We only make grants to nonprofit organizations, never directly to individuals. If you are an individual who has a project that meets our above criteria, you must obtain fiscal sponsorship from a 501(c)(3) organization in order to apply; apply online.
Miller Fellowship participants engage in nonprofit service for the benefit of the Yellow Springs and Miami Township Community. The Yellow Springs Community Foundation accepts proposals once a year from Yellow Springs nonprofit organizations that wish to place Miller Fellows in their organization on an annual basis. The window for applications will be announced annually on the website, social media, by email to the Nonprofit Network, and via the YS News. The applications will be submitted online through the grants portal; apply online.
All scholarship, grant applications and Miler Fellowship proposals are considered first by a review committee, which then makes a recommendation to the Board of Trustees. Grants are generally considered on a monthly basis. The usual cycle of events is that the grants review committee meets on the first or second week of the month, and the Trustees meet the third or fourth week of the month. No funds will be committed until a grant has been approved by the Board of Trustees. Grants applicants will be notified within 14 days of the Board meeting and funding will follow once the grant agreement has been signed and returned by the organization.
Proposals will be considered in the month following their submission. The deadline for application is the last day of the month unless otherwise advised. If the project you are undertaking is a time-sensitive one, it is essential that you provide your request to YSCF in a timely fashion. While we try to be responsive to requests, your project has a greater chance of being funded if you allow us time to follow our procedure.
