Apply for a Grant

The Yellow Springs Community Foundation funds grants for programs and projects that enrich life in the Village of Yellow Springs or Miami Township in Greene County, Ohio. We welcome grant applications from 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations whose projects meet this goal. Please note that we do not grant funds for recurring operational expenses. We only make grants to nonprofit organizations, never directly to individuals. If you are an individual who has a project that meets our above criteria, you must obtain fiscal sponsorship from a 501(c)(3) organization in order to apply.

All grant applications are considered first by our Grants Review Committee, which then makes a recommendation to the Board of Trustees.

Grants are considered on a monthly basis. The usual cycle of events is that the Grants Review Committee meets on the first or second week of the month, and the Trustees meet the third or fourth week of the month. No funds will be committed until your grant has been approved by the Board of Trustees. Proposals will be considered in the month following their submission. The deadline for consideration is the last day of the month.

If the project you are undertaking is a time-sensitive one, it is essential that you provide your request to YSCF in a timely fashion. While we try to be responsive to requests, your project has a greater chance of being funded if you allow us time to follow our procedure.

Only online grant submissions will be considered. In order to start the process, click here to access the Online Grant Application.
